When you’re a real estate agent, you need to stay up to date on the latest industry trends and information. A fantastic way to do that is to keep up with real estate blogs.

Blogs cover the waterfront. There is a blog for just about every area of real estate, including how to work with clients, how to invest, how to quit 9-to-5 employment and what’s going on with properties in specific geographic locales or specific price points.

Here’s my list of the 21 best real estate blogs:

ActiveRain

ActiveRain is the largest professional social network in the real estate industry. This can be an invaluable resource for building a professional sphere and lifelong friendships. ActiveRain University offers videos, webinars and other online training as well.

Geek Estate

Geek Estate offers itself as a resource to real estate agents who want to expand their businesses through deploying technology and content marketing to maximum effect.

Fortune Builders

The Fortune Builders blog focuses on real estate investing as a business, with helpful videos, infographics and detailed longer-form articles and news.

Real Estate in Your Twenties

Real Estate in Your Twenties can be useful for millennials. The point of the blog is creating wealth in real estate with a long-time horizon. If you’re targeting the long game, this is an immensely helpful blog. The blog’s author, Brandon Turner, is a co-host of the BiggerPockets podcast, and he draws from his firsthand experience to write it.

Luxury Defined

Luxury Defined is one of several blogs dedicated to specific high-end price points. As its name implies, it’s for luxury real estate. This blog is the product of Christie’s International Real Estate, which specializes in high-end clients around the world. The blog lists relevant data alongside features on luxury living.

Flipping Junkie

Whether you flip or not, this is a useful blog because of its marketing tips and information on how rises in the real estate market can be used to benefit agents and their clients. It focuses on the personal experience of a flipper with a decade of experience.

BiggerPockets

BiggerPockets is dedicated to wealth creation for real estate professionals via investment. The information is always useful, timely and will help you serve your clients better, which is the key to all success in business.

Afford Anything

Some of the best blogs to keep up with are those that narrate personal experiences. Afford Anything is one from a woman whose investments in just seven rental properties allow her to travel the world and hold only the job of real estate investor. It’s great, fun to read and aspirational as well.

Rob Hahn’s blog

Rob Hahn — or Notorious R.O.B., as he styles himself — runs a personal blog where he talks about real estate in several verticals. By day, he’s a real estate business strategist, so he’s very knowledgeable. He’ll also give you points on audio equipment.

Vendor Alley

Technology is increasingly important to real estate. Vendor Alley is one of the few blogs dedicated to real estate technology, tools, solutions and more.

Apartment Therapy

The popular Apartment Therapy website is an all-things style blog. Between décor, house tours, before-and-after videos, marketplace information and real estate trends — it can give you tons of ideas to impress your clients.

Imagine Your House

The Imagine Your House blog is an excellent tool for real estate agents who focus on private homes. The blogger, Lynn Pineda, focuses on teaching both buyers and sellers how to maximize their home value. Pineda is based in South Florida, but the tips are useful anywhere.

Zillow Porchlight

The “Porchlight” blog features Zillow data from surveys and studies. It also publishes interviews with industry leaders.

Trulia

Trulia, a subsidiary of Zillow Group, is another big name in the real estate industry. Its blog features information from buyers, sellers and real estate professionals, as well as renters.

Bankrate

The website Bankrate.com is an excellent source of financial information that covers anything that relates to bank rates, including mortgages and consumer and commercial loans.

It’s well-worth keeping up with the sensible advice and data this site provides. There are multiple blogs on the website, under several different financial verticals. If interest rates start affecting your business — and they can — keep on top of it with the Bankrate blog.

Redfin

Redfin is one of the powerhouses in real estate information. Its blog shares advice, market insights and data about housing markets nationwide. Get tips from actual real estate agents who work for Redfin on this one.

The National Association of Realtors

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has several different blogs aimed at different verticals. “The Source” focuses on CRE, for example, while “Resort Life” focuses on resort properties. Check out the NAR Newsline to keep up with breaking real estate news.

The Broker List

The Broker List targets CRE and talks to a broad audience within the sector, including property managers, brokers and CRE experts. The information is both up-to-date and actionable.

The Michael Blank

Michael Blank invests in apartment buildings via raising funds from private investors. He will tell you how he did it and how you can too. A useful addition to any mix, this blog gives tips on dealing with clients who are private investors.

Rentonomics by Apartment List

This site is aimed at folks looking to rent an apartment. It provides customized, data-based lists. But it also provides an amazing drill-down of real estate data well-worth your time, ranging from the ebb and flow of market prices to terrific holiday displays in, for example, downtown Denver.

Coldwell Banker Commercial

The Coldwell Banker blog features posts on a wealth of subjects, including the growth of Chinese investors as a force in CRE, how to do content marketing and how the labor market may affect real estate market growth.

These 21 real estate blogs can help you serve clients, grow your business and create wealth.
