Australian real estate image editing and enhancement company BoxBrownie announced at Inman Connect San Francisco a major branding overhaul in conjunction with new features for real estate agents.

Australian real estate image editing and enhancement company BoxBrownie announced at Inman Connect San Francisco a major branding overhaul in conjunction with new features for real estate agents.

The company was founded in 2015 and named after Eastman Kodak’s original consumer-level camera. It presented at Startup Alley at the most recent ICSF and ICNY, and it was a 2018 Inman Innovator finalist.

Gone is the company’s original black-and-white logo and branding scheme, replaced with a modernist red-and-black colorway. In place of the full iteration of “BoxBrownie,” the logo now champions the repetition of a lower-case letter “b” in a “pixelated” font intended to reflect the company’s digital editing services.

Also unveiled was a new tagline to accompany the company’s branding renovation: “Your secret weapon in property marketing.”

At ICSF, BoxBrownie showcased a new service to help agents show clients what a room or home exterior would look like after a renovation.

The virtualization service uses existing property images and architectural renderings (when available) as the basis for a virtual redo of any room in a home, a valuable tool for picky homebuyers or sellers with big pre-sale marketing budgets. It’s also an ideal tool for agents who sell new homes or unfinished listings.

Most images are pricing around the $100 mark.

“Almost once a month a broker will encounter a property that represents great value to the market based on the potential for the property to be improved in some way,” said Peter Schravemade, manager of BoxBrownie. “In this instance, it becomes invaluable to demonstrate the potential of what the property could be.”

The service can add pools, new flooring, windows where there are walls, exterior finishes and amenities, furniture and paint colors, among other common renovation themes and goals.

BoxBrownie also released a portrait touch-up service to assist agents in putting forth the best possible version of their headshot.

The company’s popularity in the States has grown quickly as result of its affordability and rapid turn-around, aided in no small part by the time differences between Australia and North America, allowing artists to work while most of our industry sleeps.

Other visual marketing services offered by BoxBrownie include, among others, room item removal, virtual staging, dawn-to-dusk renderings, 360-degree renderings and enhancement and custom building plan visualization.

However, like all property marketing imagery, BoxBrownie encourages agents to ensure virtual renovation photos being marketed within a multiple listing service abide by its imagery regulations.

“It is important to reiterate to clients that the output image is an artist’s interpretation of what the final product might look like … check with your MLS as to whether they allow the demonstration of property potential,” Schravemade said.
