This summer we’re looking at the state of the luxury agent & broker in today’s increasingly complex real estate market. In October, we’ll gather in Beverly Hills at Luxury Connect to share best practices, network, and create blueprint for the luxury agent/broker of tomorrow. Don’t miss it.

What do you do if you’re a millennial agent who wants to break into the luxury real estate market where you live? If you’re Chase Nuttall, an agent with Nest Seekers International who launched his career between Los Angeles and San Diego, then the answer is simple: You leverage your Instagram account.

Nuttall is going to be discussing how he uses social media to get customers at Luxury Connect, October 16 through 18 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, where he’ll talk about how he tapped into the luxury market despite not having any connections or previous experience selling high-end real estate.

“I didn’t know how to tap into the luxury market and had no easy access to it,” he explained. But Nuttall already had one weapon in his arsenal, social media, and he decided to leverage it and see where it would take him.

“I have friends who are influencers and have built their presence as a public figure on Instagram and YouTube,” he noted. “So I thought, ‘Why can’t I do that with real estate?’ It’s essentially the same thing — you’re selling something, whether it’s a product or a service.”

He built his Instagram page and after applying some tactics he’d learned about growing audiences on social media, he saw his followers creep into the thousands, then broke five figures in followers. While selling real estate at the high end, he’s tweaked his social media accordingly, and today it’s a lucrative source of leads for Nuttall.

“I get referrals from people I met through Instagram,” he said, “and my followers see me posting these photos of properties. Sooner or later one of them will reply and ask, ‘How much is that house?’ The next thing I know, I’m showing them the house — and they might not like that one, but then I show them another because now I know what they want, and eventually they write an offer.”
