The Miami Association of Realtors has inked partnerships with 15 local chapters of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals.

The 47,000 members of the largest local Realtor association in the U.S. now have the opportunity to exchange referrals with their colleagues in Mexico.

The Miami Association of Realtors (MIAMI) has inked partnerships with 15 local chapters of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (known as AMPI). Mexico has been among the top six foreign countries purchasing real estate in South Florida for seven straight years, MIAMI said, citing its 2017 Profile of International Home Buyers.

In 2017, Mexican citizens purchased South Florida homes worth a combined $284 million, about 4 percent of all foreign investment in the region, MIAMI added.

“The Miami lifestyle, the region’s incredible diversity, top-tier shopping and world-class developments are just some of the reasons why Mexican homebuyers purchase Miami real estate,” said George C. Jalil, MIAMI chairman of the board, in a press release.

“The shift to a new Mexican president this year amidst continued political instability is also leading Mexican buyers to purchase in South Florida.”

The deals mean MIAMI now has partnerships in place with 204 international associations in more than 50 countries worldwide with more than 100,000 real estate agents and brokers combined, adding a record 30 partnerships in 2018 alone, the trade group said.

The associations form part of MIAMI’s International Referral Network, which the trade group says provides its members with a “powerful competitive advantage”

“Consumers should seek real estate professionals who are members of the Miami Association of Realtors because they have international expertise, professional network and marketing resources to better serve them,” MIAMI said in the release.

“These alliances create business opportunities for MIAMI members, enhance Miami’s global position and strengthen the local economy,” the trade group added. “They also provide resources, visibility and connections for MIAMI’s international partners.”

MIAMI’s new partners are AMPI chapters in the Mexican cities of:

  • Morelia, Michoacan
  • Manzanillo, Colima
  • Pachuca, Hidalgo
  • Mazatlán, Sinaloa
  • Querétaro, Querétaro
  • Ciudad de Puebla, Puebla
  • Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua

  • Veracruz, Veracruz
  • Tampico, Tamaulipas
  • Guaymas, Sonora
  • Tijuana, Baja California
