Trulia.com continued its steady climb of Hitwise’s list of top 10 real estate Web sites to reach fifth place in June, with Homes.com also managing to break onto the list by displacing ServiceMagic.com from the 10th position.

The Hitwise Top 10 accounted for 28 percent of visits to Web sites in the real estate category, the company said, with the Hitwise Top 20 accounting for nearly four in 10 visits to the category.

Trulia.com, which cracked the Hitwise Top 10 in December, was the ninth-ranked site in the real estate category by market share in April, and sixth in May. By displacing RE/MAX Real Estate from the fifth position, Trulia.com became the first newcomer in the top five since February.

Realtor.com, Yahoo! Real Estate, Zillow and ZipRealty kept their lock on the top four spots on the Hitwise Top 10 in June.

Web sites rising in the Hitwise Top 20 rankings were Rent.com, which moved from seventh to sixth place, HUD.gov, up one position to eighth, Apartments.com, up two positions to 13th, and Listingbook Services, debuting on the Top 20 list at 17th.

Making way for the newcomer was Foreclosure.com, which dropped off the Hitwise Top 20 list after falling from 16th to 18th in May. Also slipping in the rankings were RE/MAX Real Estate, down two positions to seventh; Homegain, down one position to ninth; ServiceMagic.com, down one position to 11th; Century21 Real Estate, which fell two places to 15th; and MyNewPlace, down one position to 18th.

Maintaining their positions on the Hitwise Top 20 from May to June were Coldwell Banker Real Estate (12th), MSN Real Estate (14th), RealtyTrac (16th), mlsfinder.com (19th), and Redfin, which held onto the 20th slot it first claimed in May.

Nine sites entered the top 100: Homescape.com, BrevardMLS.com, Bluegreen, RealtyStore.com, Fidelity MLS Solutions, SibcyCline, Houses JustListed, ColdwellBankerMoves.com and Rental Properties Online.

The nine site bumped from the top 100 were Foreclosure Store, Texas Unclaimed Property, Real Estate Agents Finder, Monmouth County Association of Realtors, PrudentialProperties.com, ForeclosureToGo.com, National Home Management Solution, Sublet.com and Northern New England Real Estate Network.

Fast-moving Web sites included Shiller Real Estate (up 1,057 places to 797th), Ardor (up 271 places to 372nd), Garden City Realty (up 209 places to 364th), HomeScape.com (up 40 places to 72nd), Closing.com (up 514 places to 884th), Alaska Railroad (up 196 places to 401st), NY-Foreclosures.com (up 734 places to 1,375th), Mountaindream.com (up 614 places to 1,393rd), Wyndham Vacation Resorts (up 22 places to 60th), and First Multiple Listing Service (up 98 places to 262nd).

The top 10 search terms were realtor.com, zillow, real estate, remax, zillow.com, century21, apartments for rent, remax.com, hud.gov and remax.com homes for sale, Hitwise said.
