Realtor.com operator Move Inc. says it will serve as the national sales force for all real estate advertisers on BlockShopper.com, and also syndicate ads to the site.

Realtor.com operator Move Inc. says it will serve as the national sales force for all real estate advertisers on BlockShopper.com, and also syndicate ads to the site.

Agents purchasing community-based ad products on BlockShopper will soon be supported by Move’s customer care department, which handled more than 1.4 million calls in thousands of communities last year, the companies said.

Move will begin offering BlockShopper products and syndicating Move ad products to BlockShopper.com later this year, under an exclusive agreement — the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Move’s agreement with BlockShopper "makes it easy for agents to get involved in a localized online community, share knowledge about the community or specific properties, and increase their broader Web presence," Move CEO Steve Berkowitz said in a statement.

The agreement "builds on Move’s commitment to help connect agents with buyers and sellers, and pushes it down to the hyperlocal levels where sales transactions occur every day," Berkowitz said.

Founded in 2006, BlockShopper.com covers 20 local markets — 800,000 unique users viewed 4 million pages in January, the companies said. The company posts items about individual home sales, including details about buyers and sellers. Move said its network of websites attracted 12.98 million visitors in January, citing comScore statistics.

Zillow and Yahoo Real Estate announced an advertising partnership in July in which Zillow said it would manage a common set of for-sale listings for both sites.

Move announced its own ad alliance with AOL Real Estate in January, in which Move would syndicate listings to the site and powering listing searches.
