This story has been updated to remove an unsubstantiated reference to Realtor.com’s mobile app being the most downloaded real estate app for iOS and Android.

Truly a game changer (and I HATE that phrase).

Realtor.com Agent App

Realtor.com has a remarkable app.

The “Area Highlighter” feature literally drops jaws.

The “Area Scout” feature reloads listings as your car drives around town.

Plus, due to the data agreement between NAR and Realtor.com, it is also the most accurate app in terms of listing quality.

Starting this fall, for free, you can offer the exact same app to your clients (Sign up right now to be first on the list).

By doing so, it brands the Realtor.com app to the agent who provided the link to iTunes.

There will be an unique URL, provided to every licensed agent in the US with a valid MLS ID.

Agents can then email the link to their clients, share it socially, text it or even add a badge to their website to download the app instantly from iTunes.

The bandwidth required to potentially empower more than a million Realtors with a new app overnight is no easy task.

Kudos to the team at Realtor.com for tackling this enormous challenge. And for not making the app free only to those who pay them for other services. It is truly free to all.

The app will also have new functionality based on collaborating with your clients.

Think Words with Friends or Draw Something, but for real estate.

When the agent and their client both have the app installed, they can communicate back and forth using push notifications and a really cool text message like interface (shown in the image above).

All of the conversations about various properties are archived inside of the app for both parties to reference in the future.

Here is a quick video showing the new functionality in action:

While the specific release date is not available (should be very soon), you can sign up here to be notified when the app is live and of all the specifics required in getting your personal app.
