Digital transactions are even more streamlined for members of the California Association of Realtors, thanks to a new partnership between zipLogix and Glide, a developer of web-based software for completion of real estate disclosure forms.

ZipLogix announced the partnership in an April 30 press release and said that Glide Forms will be made available to members who use zipForm Plus.

According to the press release, “the Glide application provides a step-by-step TurboTax-like interface for sellers to securely and digitally input their disclosure information. The intuitive wizard makes it significantly easier for sellers to answer questions about their property, ensures all relevant information is included and provides sellers with clarifications on what a question is asking for whenever needed.”

Clients of C.A.R. members will receive an invitation to complete the Earthquake Hazard Form, Transfer Disclosure and Seller Disclosure using Glide Forms.

After registering with Glide, sellers are shown an interface that presents the documents in a categorized, less-cumbersome format, stripping away the traditional “legalese” in favor of conversational language in a modern, web-friendly visual form.

Attachments can be included, and typically confusing form questions are accompanied by detailed descriptions, especially in the seller disclosure section. Glide Forms are also optimized for mobile use.

Once complete, documents are emailed to the agent and integrated as PDFs with the client’s transaction record in zipForm Plus.

Obtaining accurately completed disclosure forms from sellers is a consistent point of irritation for real estate agents and transaction coordinators. Documents are often incorrect, incomplete and the source of delays.

Many of the problems with completing necessary transaction disclosures stem from the inherent language and design of the forms. Unfamiliar legal and industry jargon grow more difficult to digest when presented in the context of what can be an emotionally draining process for a seller.

“We’re excited to put an end to this headache for everyone, and we see our partnership with zipLogix as an important first step,” said Sebastian Tonkin, Glide’s CEO, in the press release.

In combination with the transparent workflow provided by zipForm Plus, the deployment of Glide is intended to improve the overall consumer experience with the traditional real estate process, which underlies much of the marketing message of “iBuyers” like Opendoor and now, Zillow.

Glide Forms will also be available to all users of zipForm Plus.

“Any state or local association using zipForm has the option to enable Glide for their form library without requiring additional integration work,” Tonkin said.
