Global real estate brand Engel & Völkers and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals announced a new partnership Wednesday to promote inclusion and diversity in real estate.

Global real estate brand Engel & Völkers and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals announced a new partnership Wednesday to promote inclusion and diversity in real estate.

The partnership is aimed at providing education to Engel & Völkers’ network of more than 11,000 real estate agents across the globe, ensuring that the company is helping Hispanic consumers and agents, promoting Hispanic homeownership among the former and professional real estate development for the latter.

“My involvement throughout the years with NAHREP as a member and as part of the board of directors of NAHREP Charlotte has empowered me through education, networking and tools to better serve the Latino community,” Martha Borgese, an advisor with Engel & Völkers in South Charlotte, said in a statement.

“Latino buying power is propelling the American economy forward; in fact, Hispanics have been responsible for 59 percent of homeownership growth in the U.S. since 2012, according to the Hispanic Wealth Project and NAHREP’s recently released State of Hispanic Homeownership Report,” Borgese added. “Given Engel & Völkers’ commitment to inclusion, I could not be more thrilled that our network is supporting NAHREP’s mission on a national level.”

A spokesperson for Engel & Völkers told Inman that the company will leverage the partnership to bring more of NAHREP’s research into their learning curriculum, as well as create more participation opportunities at local and national events to its network.

“NAHREP welcomes Engel & Völkers to the association’s network of partners and looks forward to working strategically with them in the coming year,” Gary Acosta, co-founder and CEO of NAHREP said in a statement.

As a result of the partnership, Anthony Hitt, president and CEO of the German-founded Engel & Völkers’ American outfit, will join NAHREP’s corporate board of governors.

“As a global brand in more than 30 countries, the Engel & Völkers network is inherently inclusive,” Hitt said in a statement. “Our multi-national partnership with NAHREP provides an opportunity for our brokers and advisors to not only learn from an extended network of professionals, but also lead conversations around diversity and inclusion within our industry.”
