Than Merrill is a former professional athlete, expert real estate investor, TV personality, businessman, entrepreneur, best selling author, national speaker, avid philanthropist, husband and father. After attending Yale University,
Than Merrill was drafted into the NFL, where an injury abruptly ended his football career. It was then that Than decided to begin a new career in real estate, educating himself in finance, entrepreneurship and real estate investing.
Than Merrill is best known for his achievements within the real estate industry, as he is the CEO and co-founder of both CT Homes, LLC and FortuneBuilders Inc. Shortly after starting CT Homes with his childhood friends Paul Esajian, JD Esajian and Konrad Sopielnikow, his team was asked to be featured on A&E's popular reality TV show "Flip This House”. Having established himself as one of the most successful investors in the country, Than Merrill and his “New Haven” team were featured on three seasons of the real estate investing program.
Looking for a way to give back after realizing success in the real estate investing industry, Than Merrill and his team formed FortuneBuilders in 2006 to deliver quality real estate education for investors. FortuneBuilders has since been recognized by Inc. 5,000 as one of the nation’s leading real estate education companies, educating thousands of investors and real estate professionals across the U.S. and Canada. Than Merrill currently resides in San Diego, CA, and enjoys giving back to the community through his company initiative FortuneBuilders Gives and his non-profit group, The Equal Footing Foundation.
