LionDesk is a fully featured CRM system that is used more than 800 markets and 10 countries by several thousand real estate agents.

For the last couple of months, the company has been beta testing video email and texting with its customers, a feature that typically requires the assistance of a third-party provider, like OneMob or BombBomb.

LionDesk’s video email is built directly into its Communications module and videos can be recorded directly from the compose window. They can be saved as templates and re-used.

Text videos are smartly limited to 20 seconds; emailed videos can be up to two minutes.

Any contact within a database can be sent a video message via text or email. Each video, and its resulting metrics, is permanently linked to a prospect’s record.

Both texts and emails can have “mail-merged” prospect information embedded in them and be triggered as autoresponders to sign-ups and requests for more information.

LionDesk’s video email is built directly into its Communications module.

Text or email drip campaigns can also be customized with video.

What stands out about LionDesk’s video email is that the screen shot actually displays a small snippet of the video within a recipient’s inbox. Using a short series of sequential screenshots, the preview of sorts looks like a GIF.

The full videos are opened in a separate landing page, which can be branded and titled appropriately.

Why wouldn’t an agent use their phone to send home tour videos to clients via text instead of something like LionDesk? One reason is that having video content linked directly to your prospect database an advantage over standalone video marketing efforts, as is the reporting feature.

LionDesk also saves your video content in your account so you don’t toggle between Google Photos or Dropbox to retrieve it.

I also think there is value in having the video record tools in your email compose dashboard. It serves as a mental trigger to use it more often.

After all, why send the same form of message every other agent sends?
